Today's Health Awareness Blog is entitled, "Is your diet working for you?"
With the New Year now here, one of the biggest, most widely expressed New Years resolutions is to lose weight and get our health back in order.
Our thought process and intentions are good, but then the thought of going to the gym, cutting calories, or drinking whatever the new fad slim down shake is - becomes a reality, and that New Years resolution of a fit and trim body doesn't seem so obtainable anymore.
So the question of the New Year is:
"How do we change all that?"
In researching how to cure my cancer naturally, I came across the reason we gain weight in the first place and how to correct the problem of not being able to pass up that brownie.

So let me ask you this . . .
Did you know that when the average person gains weight, they gain from the bottom up.
And when you lose weight, you lose from the top down.
Doesn't seem fair does it?
I know from my own experience when I put on a few pounds, I first notice it below the belt. But when I would try to lose that extra weight, I'd notice my face getting thin and my boobs not as perky as they used to be!
What's wrong with that picture?
But in fact, that is reality!
So why do we get discouraged and can't finish a diet plan?
Why do we find ourselves in yo-yo diets and why can't we win this battle of the bulge?
The answer is . . . because our hormones play an important role in good health and weight control. They are the defining factor whether we are successful with a diet or not.
We have many hormones that regulate our body, but did you know, when you consume fructose (sugar) the reason we gain weight is due to the effect it has on the hormone called Leptin.
In an article written by Kris Gunnars entitled, "Four Ways Sugar Makes You Fat," Gunnars says, "Leptin is secreted by fat cells. The bigger the fat cells, the more leptin they secrete. This is the signal your brain uses to determine how much fat it has stored for a rainy day. When we eat food, some of it gets stored in the fat cells. This makes the fat cells get bigger and secrete more leptin.
When the brain senses the increased leptin, it "sees" that we have enough fat stored and that we don't need to eat. This is the elegant mechanism designed by nature to make us stop being hungry and eat less when there is plenty of fat in the fat cells, which is supposed to prevent us from becoming obese.
More fat = more leptin = we have enough energy = don't need to eat. Simple!
Increased leptin also makes us release more fat from our fat stores and raises the metabolic rate. This is how it's supposed to work, but if the brain becomes resistant to leptin (doesn't "see" the leptin in the blood) then this regulatory process won't work.
If the brain doesn't see the leptin, it won't know that the fat cells are full and there won't be any signal to tell the brain that it needs to stop eating.
Low leptin - don't have enough energy stored = need to eat more and burn less.
This is how leptin resistance makes us fat. The brain thinks that the body is starving and makes us eat more and burn less. Trying to exert "willpower" over the powerful leptin-driven starvation signal is next to impossible. This is why most people can't just simply "eat less, move more" and live happily ever after."
So we now know consuming sugar in any form is very detrimental to ones health and hormones!
Leptin is just one of the hormones that effect our health and weight.
There's the Ghrelin hormone, Cortisol, Serotonin and Insulin just to mention a few more.
After thirteen years of owning and operating a successful health club and now four more years of research, I have discovered a simple way to correct these hormones naturally. Which will allow the body to burn calories more efficiently and ultimately the body will lose weight without diets, starving or taking synthetic man-made diet supplements.
